The Problem

Many organizations want to leverage the latest state-of-the-art technology for humanlike voice and speech generation, but they cannot find a supplier that can answer this simple question:

“Can you prove where every training sample came from and that it was lawfully acquired for commercial AI training?”

The Current Situation

Many organizations remain stuck with older speech technologies because they cannot find state-of-the-art solutions that meet their legal compliance requirements.

Voice and speech AI has made enormous quality advances in recent years. However, a significant factor behind this progress has been the use of undisclosed internet-scraped data – a practice currently being challenged in numerous lawsuits around the world.

The Solution from Lingotion

Lingotion has spent more than five years developing a humanlike voice AI that matches – and in some respects exceeds – the quality of other state-of-the-art models, using only lawfully acquired training data.

Elimination of training data indemnification risk

Strong copyright claims on generated output

Reduced third-party copyright infringement risk

On-device deployment for embedded edge-AI solutions

Approx. 99% lower CO₂ emissions than cloud alternatives

Provenance & Compliance

Full documentation, end to end

Every Lingotion model is delivered with full compliance documentation and proof of provenance, giving your legal and procurement teams the evidence they need.

Ethics & Royalties

Compliance that goes beyond the law

Lingotion’s approach is not only legally compliant – it is also ethical. The original voice artists who provided training data receive royalties based on Lingotion’s revenue.

Copyright-defensible output

Derivative by design, protected by default

Most state-of-the-art AI models are intentionally trained to be transformative, distancing themselves from the scraped works they were trained on. Courts have ruled that this means generated output does not qualify for copyright protection.

Lingotion takes the opposite approach. Our AI is designed to be as derivative as possible of the original licensed recordings. When you provide your own text, the resulting audio is derived from both the voice artist’s expression and your authored text, providing a strong legal claim for copyright protection of the output. We provide detailed training logs as evidence that can be presented in court.

Deployment & Sustainability

On-device or cloud – and 100x greener

Lingotion’s models are performance-optimized AI models that can run either  on performance-constrained embedded edge-AI systems, or as a cloud-based SaaS solution. When running in the cloud the same performance efficiency reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 99% compared to other state-of-the-art cloud solutions.

Use cases

Example industry use cases

Voiceover for educational videos

You create educational videos and need AI-generated voiceovers that sound natural while meeting your company’s legal and compliance requirements. You also want to retain copyright protection for the generated audio so you can publish and distribute your content with confidence.

Audio feedback for car navigation

Drivers expect natural, human-like voice guidance that runs reliably on the vehicle’s hardware. Our AI voice generation models are optimized to run directly on low-cost CPUs without requiring expensive GPUs.

When integrating generative AI into production vehicles, legal compliance is just as important as performance. Our solution helps manufacturers meet their compliance requirements while delivering high-quality speech directly on the device.

Interactive visitor attractions

Interactive experiences at theme parks, aquariums, zoos, museums, science centres, exhibitions, and other visitor attractions increasingly rely on one-to-one conversations between visitors and AI-powered characters or guides. Examples include character encounters, interactive museum guides, VR adventures, and educational exhibits.

Creating engaging experiences requires more than realistic speech. It requires AI that can act, respond, and express emotions naturally while adapting to each visitor. Many attractions also require predictable operating costs, making on-device or on-premises deployment an attractive alternative to cloud-based solutions where costs increase with every visitor.
